Jodie's Coming Home!

Just wanted to let you all know that Jodie will be coming home on Sunday, September 25th. They decided yesterday to extend her stay at Timber Ridge until that time.

Please continue to pray for Jodie as she will soon make the adjustment to being back home. I know she will be so ready to be at home (especially with Ole Miss football season here). In the past month, even some of the ones who take care of Jodie at Timber Ridge have said they thought she was getting homesick and I know we all surely miss her. I believe that the past 4 months she has spent there have been beneficial and we pray and look forward to more improvements in her recovery.

Also, to update you on her since she was released from the hospital last Friday after her seizure scare. She also had an infection and she's been having problems with one of her toenails and finger swelling (this occurred before the seizure - I just didn't know). Because of this, she has been on antibiotics in the past few weeks. She had to go back yesterday for some more lab tests to see if she is on the correct antibiotic because the infection has not seemed to clear up. Mama spoke with the neurosurgeon's office here in Jackson again yesterday and they feel that the infection and antibiotics may have caused her to have the seizure. She is doing fine now and has continued to go to therapy this week.

We look forward to bringing her home and ask for your continued prayers.

Hey Jennifer,
Glad to hear that she's going home soon!!! Will she be coming to Jackson any for doctor's apppointments any time soon? Please let me know if and when she does come to Jackson that I can make sure to make plans to see her - even if it's only for 5 minutes at a gas station! I miss her!

I'll keep Jodi in my prayers. I'm Erik's sister, Bess. Jodi and I have the same birthday! I hope she had a good one this year.

Jennifer, you do not know me, but because I am on the Winona List Serve, I receive your updates on Jodie. I have been praying for her and her family ever since we received news of her accident. I am the mother of a 34 year old daughter who was brain injured at birth and has seizures almost every day. While Wendi's condition and prognosis is so different from Jodie's, I empathize with her and all those family members and friends who love her and want her well and whole again. Please don't lose hope or faith that Jodie's condition will improve. Already she has made much progress when little was expected.

With loving thoughts,
Camille Shephard Anders

My name is Sheena Shumpert, RN. I am one of the nurses who took care of Jodie while she was in the Med. I am glad to see that she is doing as well as she is. My prayers are with her. I will check back again for more updates.
