Jodie surgery update

Jodie had tendon release surgery on her arm this morning at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

The procedure went good. Her shoulder, elbow and hand were all contracted so Dr. DiPaolo had to do release on the entire arm area - she was able to straighten it to about 50-75% of the target and that was as much as she could do because of the veins and the arteries in her arm. The incision in Jodie's arm from the surgery is from her shoulder down to her wrist. There are some follow-up procedures that the doctor may have to address in the future, but for now, everything looks good.

She was originally scheduled to be outpatient and to be released, but due to the extra long incision and obvious pain, she is being kept overnight for pain management and observation. She is in room 228.

She is doing good following the surgery (she even smiled at us after she came out of recovery) and after the pain meds, she was mostly knocked out this afternoon. Hopefully, she will be awake enough to eat some supper tonight.

Thanks for your prayers for Jodie today and please continue to pray for her recovery and progress. Prayer Works!
